College and Career Fair

Communicating – Students are able to speak to College and Career Representatives about future choices Initiative – Students approached college and career representatives and asked questions about their programs and institutions.
Productivity – Students set goals and planned for the future.
Information Literacy – Students gave and took information from College and Career Representatives

Senior Exit Interview 

Communicating/Social Skills - Students create and present a PowerPoint presentation to a panel of teachers reflecting on their education at Blackhawk High School and future plans. They are also then prepared to answer questions from the panelists about their presentation.
Productivity- Students share their future goals and discuss the steps that are needed to achieve them.
Technology Literacy- Students utilize PowerPoint to create their visual aid used during the presentation

Testing 

Critical Thinking - students figure out practical solutions to questions.
Technology Literacy - students use iPad to take PSAT's and Keystones.
Life Skills - students navigate information by completing the exams in a timely manner.

Advanced Placement  English 12 

In AP English 12, students learn about argumentation and practice academic debate. They sharpen their critical thinking, collaborate with debate partners, and hone their public speaking skills. After a few rounds of in-class debates, the top 6 speakers participate in a final debate in the auditorium with an audience of 200 peers and teachers.
